- A Texas sheriff says an 84-year-old woman has been arrested for the murder of her husband in 1984, and it was a reality TV show that helped crack the cold case.

Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis said Wednesday that the arrest last week of Norma Allbritton was aided by the program "Cold Justice," a reality-based television show where investigators dig up unsolved cold-cases.

"This truly was a team effort," Ellis told the Palestine Herald-Press Tuesday. "Without Cold Justice, I don't think we could've progressed as we have – but they also couldn't have done it without the LCSO staff."

The arrest of Allbritton marks the show's 44th arrest, according to "Cold Justice" producers.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office said that Johnnie Allbritton was found murdered in his home in 1984 outside of Buffalo Texas, 100 miles southeast of Dallas. An "intense investigation was conducted reviewing all possible leads."

The Palestine Herald-Press reported that Allbritton was scheduled to take a polygraph test a few weeks following her husband's death but allegedly shot herself on accident, and the polygraph test was never rescheduled.

The case was revisited in 2015 by sheriff's investigators and new evidence was later forwarded to the TV show, but Ellis declined to disclose just exactly what evidence was presented that eventually led to the indictment of Norma Allbritton on a murder charge.

The Leon County Sherrif's Office posted about the case on their Facebook page, saying that a Leon County Grand Jury returned an indictment for the charge of murder and an arrest warrant was issued for Norma Allbritton, who was taken into custody by Leon County investigators on July 1, 2019.

Producers of "Cold Justice" say the episode featuring the case of Johnnie Allbritton will air early next year.

Witchcraft questions for police polygraph tests? - Trinidad News

WHAT does one's sexuality or witchcraft have to do with crime-busting?

This is one of the burning questions by police in light of a recent Whatsapp message that has been circulating, supposedly relating to the polygraph testing scheduled to begin next week.

The message, titled Questions for seniors re polygraph test, has only six questions. The first question is: Are you gay? It is followed by: Are you into necromancy?

Police Commissioner Gary Griffith, in a recent media release, said the polygraph testing of regular and Special Reserve officers starts next week and forms part of transformational policing for greater accountability in the service.

It is to be done across all divisions and is not limited to officers assigned to stations in the southwestern peninsula. Griffith said most officers assigned to the South Western Division have been doing their jobs commendably.

In the message, the third question is: As a senior police officer have you engaged in any sexual activity in lieu of favours, kickbacks or promotions?

The other questions are: Are you a member of any gang, be it Rasta City, Muslims or LGBTQ?; Have you ever received remuneration from operators of casinos, quarrying, firearms licences, liquor licences, dismissal of cases, fete promoters? ; and: Are you profiting in any way either directly or indirectly from the current post that you are holding in the police service?

Newly elected president of the Police Social Welfare Association (PSWA) acting Insp Gideon Dickson dismissed the message as a hoax, although he was unaware of it.

"I am not aware of that at all and I cannot validate that information. That makes no real sense. I do not think anyone knows what the questions would be," Dickson said.

The association is not against polygraph testing.

Dickson added: "My position remains the same – anything that the law caters for is what we subscribe to as an association, because we are upholders of the law. Policies do not supersede the law."

Fotis Dulos Attorney Says Girlfriend Passed Polygraph Test - New Canaan, CT Patch

NEW CANAAN, CT — Michelle Troconis, the girlfriend of estranged husband Fotis Dulos, recently passed a polygraph test that could help Fotis Dulos in connection with the case involving the disappearance of his wife, Jennifer Farber Dulos, according to attorney Norm Pattis.

In a radio interview Thursday morning with Chaz and AJ on 99.1 WPLR, Pattis said that Fotis Dulos "did not cause his wife to disappear or cause her harm," but also said that he believes Jennifer Dulos may have been the victim of foul play. Listen to the interview below.

But Troconis has been ruled out as a participant in any foul play that may have taken place in New Canaan, according to Pattis, in part because of the polygraph she passed. She has also provided an alibi that has "satisfied police."

In the arrest warrants for Troconis and Fotis Dulos, authorities state that Jennifer Dulos was the victim of a "serious physical assault" at her New Canaan home at the time of her disappearance.

While Troconis has met with prosecutors, Pattis believes that she has not provided authorities with any information of value, which could help his client because she also told police she had no knowledge of what may have been in the bags she and Fotis Dulos are accused of discarding.

Police said the two threw away bags in Hartford that contained items stained with Jennifer Dulos' blood.

The Hartford Courant reports that black Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck, that police said Fotis Dulos was driving when items were discarded in Hartford, was seen in New Canaan on May 24, the day Jennifer Dulos disappeared.

Fotis Dulos reportedly was not driving it at the time - an unnamed employee of his home-building company was - and the truck has been seized by authorities.

Pattis has private investigators working on the case, he said, and his law firm and Fotis Dulos are establishing his alibi for the morning of the 24th. Previously, Pattis said Troconis and her attorney, Andrew Bowman, have not spoken to him or Fotis Dulos.

Authorities continued their search this week for Jennifer Dulos, and for clues to her disappearance, at a pond in Avon and at the Hartford garbage plant where discarded items may have ended up.
