The Weld County Sheriff's office, Greeley, CO, is searching for a Records Technician. The Records Technician enters all required Criminal and associated report information into local and state-wide computers for the Weld County Sheriff's Office; processes written reports, forms, and documents, verifies that necessary information is included on forms; responds to inquiries and requests for services from public, department personnel, other law enforcement agencies; enters and maintains warrant records for Weld County, and surrounding municipal agencies (by contract).

This position involves a variety of tasks including answering phones, and disseminating information; completing computer queries, entries and cancellations; dealing with public in person and by telephone; assisting officers and personnel from other criminal justice agencies by phone and in person; filing; using office machines such as copiers, printers, fax, microfilm reader and scanner. The need to do multiple tasks simultaneously often arises.

Primary assignments vary on a day to day basis and all full-time employees perform all tasks by rotating through the various assignments periodically. Some days are spent mostly on the primary assigned task. At other times an employee is assigned to act as back-up for another employee, addressing customer service needs, computer requests, and public assistance in addition to the primary assignment.

This position may require operations 24/7, 365 days a year. Employees may be required to work some weekends, holiday, days and/or nights as part of a standard workweek.

Amazon continues to peddle a "spy camera" embedded in a clothes hook despite the e-retailer facing a lawsuit over the gadgets after they were allegedly used to secretly ogle an underage Brazilian girl. The motion sensor-activated "nanny cam" was used by Darrel Wells of West Virginia to spy on the foreign exchange student and aspiring actress he was hosting two years ago, according to a complaint filed this year. The lawsuit accuses the product's manufacturers of creating "a spy camera consisting of a mountable hook with an embedded pinhole camera" which enables users to "secretly record audio and video of individuals without their knowledge or consent."
