Investigation reveals Oakland Co. Child Killer suspect failed polygraph test about murders - WXYZ Detroit

(WXYZ) — Metro Detroit's most notorious unsolved serial killings will be in the national spotlight next week. Investigation Discovery will air a 2-part documentary about the Oakland County Child Killings.

7 Investigator Heather Catallo was interviewed for the program because she has covered the investigation for more than 16 years. Catallo has also confirmed that a key suspect in the Oakland County Child Killer case failed a polygraph about the murders.

The new documentary, "Children of the Snow," will put the Oakland County Child Killer case back in the headlines.

"I trusted the cops and trusted them for 30 plus years," Barry King told the producers of the documentary. King's son Timmy was the fourth victim of the serial killings. King has been fighting for justice for his son for years.

Between 1976 and 1977 a killer, or killers, kidnapped and murdered four children in Oakland County along the Woodward corridor.

Over the years, dozens of suspects have emerged. Evidence has been re-examined, DNA has been analyzed, but still, the murders remain unsolved, leaving four local families in utter grief.

"I just said I'm going to go public and I'm tired being jacked around," said King in the documentary.

On February 18 and 19, 2019, Investigation Discovery will dedicate four hours to exploring the case. The documentary will follow the families, detectives, and author J. Reuben Appelman as they examine some of the most compelling suspects, as well as leads like the child pornography ring that was uncovered during the case.

"Children of the Snow" will also look at suspect Christopher Busch, a known pedophile who allegedly killed himself in Bloomfield Township in 1978.

The documentary also examines suspect Arch Sloan. Six years ago, Oakland County prosecutors and sheriff's investigators announced a potential DNA connection between the male victims in the case and hair found in Sloan's 1966 Pontiac Bonneville.

Prison records obtained by Catallo show Sloan was interviewed by detectives from the Oakland County Child Killer Task Force in 2010 and 2012, and the 7 Investigators have now confirmed Sloan failed a polygraph test about the murders.

Sloan is a convicted pedophile and is serving a life sentence in a Michigan prison.

The victims' families are hoping the national exposure will expose new clues that can finally bring them justice.

Children of the Snow airs Monday February 18th at 9pm on Investigation Discovery.

The second part airs on Tuesday February 19, also at 9pm.

Accused Gasparilla groper passed polygraph test, lawyer says - ABC Action News

The lawyer for the man at the center of a social media firestorm regarding an alleged sexual attack on a Gasparilla parade-goer is releasing new documents claiming his client is innocent.

Attorney Paul Sisco sent ABC Action News a statement, along with the affidavit.

Sisco said this his client, "can say unequivocally that he was not involved in any way in this incident. He has voluntarily sworn out an affidavit under oath, and today thoroughly passed a polygraph test administered by a former law enforcement expert who worked decades for prosecution agencies."

Rina Alvarez posted about the incident on Facebook. It didn't take long for her post to go viral. ABC Action News is not identifying the man Alvarez identified on social media because he is not charged with a crime.

Sisco says that his client was "misidentified."

The day after Gasparilla, Sisco sent screen grabs of a Facebook Messenger conversation between his client and Alvarez. The message from his client stated, "The photo of the guy pulling away from you is not me. I do not have long hair, and I did not have a wig on. And that is not my hat. This thread is going all over the internet and causing me a lot of harm, can you please take this down until we speak? And please call me as soon as you can."

The post is still on Alvarez's page. She also added an update stating, "in light of all of the stories that have been shared with me in Messenger, if anyone wants to tell their story I can get you in contact with the detectives I just spoke with. Any information will help."

During our interview with Alvarez, she said she is not identifying the wrong man.

"He said it wasn't him," Alvarez said. "I have no doubt that it was. And the other people that were around me that made statements, they saw him; it was him."

The incident is still under investigation by Tampa police.
