Harvest Christian Fellowship Pastor Greg Laurie announced news of Wilson's passing on his Facebook page Tuesday evening. It is with the deepest sadness and shock that I have to report that @jarridwilson went to be with the Lord last night. At a time like this, there are just no words. The Bible says, "There is a time to mourn." This is certainly that time. Jarrid is survived by his wife, @itsjuliwilson his two sons, Finch and Denham, his mother, father, and siblings. What You Need to Know Before Taking a Polygraph - GovExec.com What You Need to Know Before Taking a Polygraph - GovExec.com Posted: 10 Dec 2018 12:00 AM PST A polygraph is a sweat-inducing made-for-TV spectacle that even the government considers to have dubious results (there is a reason polygraph findings aren't admissible in court). But individuals in national security careers have to put aside their concerns about the reliability of a lie detector machine. Whether you're applying for a job with the Border Patrol or as a CIA agent, a number of cleared careers require a successfully completed polygraph examination. If you're facing a security clearance polygraph screening , it's helpful to know what to expect—not so you can learn countermeasures, or try to "beat" the system, but so you can eliminate one of the greatest aspects for which the exam tests: fear. There are two types of polygraph examinations used in s...

Best Twitter Reactions to Keke Palmer’s ‘Sorry To This Man’ Meme - Vogue.com Best Twitter Reactions to Keke Palmer’s ‘Sorry To This Man’ Meme - Vogue.com Posted: 18 Sep 2019 12:00 AM PDT The Online Discourse is taxing at the best of times. Once in a while, though, the internet gods send us little gifts to see us safely through the swirling maelstrom of thinkpieces, giving us just enough energy to keep swimming upstream. One such gift is a video of actress Keke Palmer failing to identify former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney during a Vanity Fair lie-detector test, which went viral on Twitter over the weekend. In the video, Palmer studies a photo of Cheney and tells her interviewer, "I hate to say it, I hope I don't sound ridiculous...I don't know who this man is. I mean, he could be walking down the street, I wouldn't know a thing. Sorry to this man." Here's the original video: [embedded content] It's ...

How to Beat a Polygraph Test - New York Times

How to Beat a Polygraph Test - New York Times How to Beat a Polygraph Test - New York Times Posted: 11 Apr 2015 12:00 AM PDT "A polygraph is nothing more than a psychological billy club used to coerce and intimidate people," says Doug Williams, a former Oklahoma City police detective and polygraph examiner who for 36 years has trained people to pass the lie-detector test. The first step is not to be intimidated. Most tests include two types of questions: relevant ones about a specific incident ("Did you leak classified information to The New York Times?") and broader so-called control questions ("Have you ever lied to anyone who trusted you?"). The test assumes that an innocent person telling the truth will have a stronger reaction to the control questions than to the relevant ones. Before your test, practice deciphering between the two question types. "Go to the beach" when you hear a relevant quest...

RCMP employee allegedly leaked secrets during period of 'significant' security-clearance backlogs - National Post RCMP employee allegedly leaked secrets during period of 'significant' security-clearance backlogs - National Post Posted: 27 Sep 2019 01:01 AM PDT OTTAWA — The RCMP was struggling to keep staff security clearances up to date during the time a senior employee allegedly tried to pass secrets to adversaries, an internal Mountie audit shows. The audit report stressed the importance of regularly reviewing the security status of RCMP employees to guard against the threat of an insider betraying the national police force by sharing sensitive information with the wrong people. The auditors found all of the RCMP sections across Canada responsible for screening had "a significant backlog" of security updates to do, as well as smaller backlogs of new clearances and upgrades to higher securit...
